Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurological based disability that causes difficulties in communication and socialization, abnormal responses to sensations, and abnormal ways of relating to people and objects. First identified more than 50 years ago, autism is typically diagnosed by the age of three. Autism is a spectrum disorder, meaning that individuals with ASDs can be slightly affected to severely incapacitated.
